If You Lived Here, What Would You be Doing Today?

At Compass at Hopkinton, we offer you opportunities to pursue experiences, adventures and destinations. These daily opportunities to engage with like-minded individuals on a variety of mutually shared interests and pursuits keep things interesting! Calling what we do “activities” doesn’t really describe the fullness of our program - from Artful Adventures, a museum visiting program, to The Knowledge Connection which focuses on continuing adult education to cooking, drama, art, fitness and “GetConnected” computer classes, you’ll find something to do every day that nurtures some element of what makes you tick and helps you to continue to grow as a person.

So what might you be doing today at Compass at Hopkinton?! Check out our facebook page to find out! And please join our online community by “liking” us. Then feel free to scroll down this page for more details.

Social Living, Wellness & Spiritual Well-Being

Individuals with memory loss benefit most from organized activities available at almost any hour, which is why we provide social, wellness, learning and therapeutic activities beginning after breakfast and continuing through the evening hours - seven days a week.

Through a variety of programs we try to address all of the needs that every person has — social, physical, spiritual and intellectual. We are very fortunate to offer intergenerational activities with the Golden Goose DayCare Center located onsite here at our building. Children light up lives and have a profound positive effect on those with memory loss. Our overall "programming goal" is not to simply keep people busy – our focus on culture, exercise, socializing, events and education is designed to nurture and inspire!

Our innovative Reconnections Program, developed by Senior Living Residences, is the bedrock of our activities programming. This curriculum-based adult learning program is backed by research that cognitive stimulation may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, and that individuals with Alzheimer's still have the ability to learn. Our material-rich courses are focused on residents’ past and present interests and developed to elicit an engaged response, as well as provide residents with a way to re-connect with their past experiences, re-engage with past learned materials, and benefit from the joy of learning. The Reconnections Program takes place in an interactive, socially stimulating setting, focused on achieving new learning and keeping minds active.

Reconnections - An Adult Learning Program

Our curriculum-based "Reconnections Program" is backed by research that cognitive stimulation may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, and that individuals with memory loss still have the ability to learn. The material-rich courses change weekly and include diverse topics such as Italy, chocolate, American artists, baseball, and our Founding Fathers. Residents experience the "joy of learning" as they engage with their peers.
