"The Perfect Next Step”
Our Respite/Short-Term Stay Option

Our Respite Programs offer short-term stays with all the benefits of residency without a long-term commitment. Families turn to Respite Care during vacations and business travel or simply to afford them a much needed break from the everyday stresses of caregiving. Individuals also sometimes live with us short-term as a “trial stay” when considering Compass on the Bay.

Most importantly, our Respite Program helps a loved one transition after a hospitalization. Often, hospital reimbursement constraints dictate when seniors are discharged – even when families and professionals feel they would benefit from further assistance. Seniors with increased disorientation and confusion as a result of a hospital stay need even more support before returning home. At Compass on the Bay we offer a holistic approach to subacute rehabilitation. Our community is an ideal setting in which to recuperate with the right level of amenities and care, which may include physical, occupational, or speech rehab services. We work closely with local VNA services to be able to provide these treatments in the resident’s private apartment at their convenience.

"I wouldn't live anywhere else but Compass on the Bay. Living here allows me to continue doing the things I love, like walking along the beach and tending to my vegetable garden. The staff is very caring and the food is delicious!"
