Methuen Village

Assisted Living & Compass Memory Support

Social Living, Wellness & Spiritual Well-Being

At Methuen Village our Social Program is developed with resident input to tailor activities and events to specific areas of interests. We offer many opportunities for residents to spend time with each other, pursue their hobbies and interests, and host their families and friends at our special gatherings. A variety of programs address the needs that every person has -- social, physical, spiritual and intellectual. Our activities are not developed to keep people busy - they are designed to nurture and inspire!

Our varied activities calendar offers something for everyone:

  • Musical entertainment
  • Shopping, dining and sightseeing excursions
  • Intergenerational programs with local schools and scout troops
  • Daily exercise classes
  • Spiritual discussion group and opportunities for worship
  • Social gatherings, parties and seasonal events
  • Educational programs and current event group discussions
  • Painting, cooking and computer classes
  • Gardening
  • Cinema feature, bridge, bingo, poker, games and trivia

Our Compass Memory Support Neighborhood offers its own special programming:

Individuals with memory loss benefit most from organized activities available at almost any hour, which is why we provide social, wellness, learning and therapeutic activities beginning after breakfast and continuing through the evening hours - seven days a week.

Our innovative Reconnections Program, developed by Senior Living Residences, is the bedrock of our activities programming. This curriculum-based adult learning program is backed by research that cognitive stimulation may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, and that individuals with Alzheimer's still have the ability to learn. Our material-rich courses are focused on residents’ past and present interests and developed to elicit an engaged response, as well as provide residents with a way to re-connect with their past experiences, re-engage with past learned materials, and benefit from the joy of learning. The Reconnections Program takes place in an interactive, socially stimulating setting, focused on achieving new learning and keeping minds active.

Reconnections - An Adult Learning Program

Our curriculum-based "Reconnections Program" is backed by research that cognitive stimulation may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, and that individuals with memory loss still have the ability to learn. The material-rich courses change weekly and include diverse topics such as Italy, chocolate, American artists, baseball, and our Founding Fathers. Residents experience the "joy of learning" as they engage with their peers.
