Our Reconnections Learning Program

Reconnections helps my father stay interested and connected in things that are going on in the world today. The program also inspires him to share his past experiences. The caring and enthusiastic staff is great about allowing each resident to focus on and open up about anything that is of interest to them. Dad’s optimism is evidenced by his recent statement that he is shooting for 100 (he just turned 90)! He is forward looking and I credit Reconnections and the wonderful staff at Methuen Village for that.

- Ann Cox, daughter of Bob Pigeon

The Reconnections Program is the foundation of our social and art programming in our Compass Memory Support Assisted Living Neighborhoods. Since implementing this innovative program, the results have been outstanding. Residents are more engaged and seem to be enjoying the day’s activities at a higher level than before Reconnections was introduced. They appear to be more confident and are able to recall information learned during the week. One resident summed up her enthusiasm for the program while viewing a masterpiece at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston saying, "I feel normal.” This is music to our ears and validates all the hard work that continues to go into creating new learning modules on a regular basis!
