SLR Executive Director Wins “Super Star” Award from Professional Association

Mike LeBrun, Executive Director of Cape Cod Senior Residences in Bourne, MA, won a top award in the Massachusetts assisted living industry. On May 12, 2008 at the Massachusetts Assisted Living Facilities Association (Mass-ALFA) Annual Awards Dinner, Mr. LeBrun received the “SuperStar” award in the “Executive Director” category.

He had been nominated by his staff for his exemplary performance as Executive Director, specifically his leadership strength, ability to foster teamwork and dedication to improving the lives of his residents. 

During the presentation, Mr. LeBrun was honored for motivating his staff by working diligently and creatively to better the lives of his residents. He is credited with obtaining grants and community donations to fund the “extras” at Cape Cod Senior Residences, including a Victory Garden with raised planting beds, a large screen plasma TV and a Bocce court. 

But, more importantly, Mr. LeBrun was honored for “changing lives and making memories.” His management style was characterized by his focus on important adages - “Treat the residents as you would want your family member to be treated” and “Look beyond the problem and search for the solution.” One staff member wrote, “Mike combines professionalism with patience and reminds us to take care of ourselves so we in turn can provide the residents with what he truly believes they deserve – the best!”
