Affiliation with Oldways, Creators of the Mediterranean Diet Pyramid
Finding new ways to improve the quality of life of our residents is at the core of our innovative approach to assisted living. That passion led us to developing our award-winning Brain Healthy Cooking Program, which offers seniors delicious daily menu options featuring foods from the well-researched Mediterranean Diet. In an effort to continuously improve upon this program, we’ve partnered with Oldways Health Through Heritage, an international non-profit organization located in Boston who promotes healthful mindful eating through the Mediterranean Diet.
Through this partnership, our chefs meet regularly with Oldways’ dieticians for coaching on healthful ingredients to stock in their kitchens, creative ways to give residents' favorite dishes a Mediterranean-style update, and finding tasty ways to reduce the use of salt and sugar. Our chefs also benefit from receiving advice and front line information on recent studies regarding the Mediterranean Diet and its health benefits.
Oldways is a non-proﬁt food and nutrition education organization, with a mission to inspire healthy eating through cultural food traditions and lifestyles.
