Farmington Food Fanatics Program Delights With Italian Desserts

Farmington Station resident Arden Towell samples a cannoli

FARMINGTON, CT— In our weekly “Food Fanatics” program, our residents enjoyed learning about—and sampling—fine Italian desserts, including cannoli and various types of Italian cookies, such as pizzelles, pignoli, and amaretti!

Food Fanatics is part of the community’s EnrichedLIFE program, a series of activities created to give residents the opportunity to continue doing what they are passionate about. It also gives them the chance to try out new hobbies, develop new skills, and discover more about the world. In this case, the Food Fanatics program goes directly to the heart of a country–its cuisine. Residents become foodies in this culinary setting, as they experience the flavors of a certain region and learn what makes it special.

Residents were delighted to indulge in the sweet treats Italy had to offer. The delicious cannolis and cookies certainly started a “fanatic” following of these desserts!
