MILFORD, MA — On December 10th, 260 filled stockings were delivered to the Milford & Mendon Senior Centers to be distributed to local seniors for the holidays. This “Stockings for Seniors” initiative was launched five years ago by Cornerstone at Milford Assisted Living with support from local families, businesses and organizations who have donated time and materials to fill stockings with useful items like socks, mittens, personal care products, stamps, batteries and gift cards. This year, two very generous donations were provide by Rockland Trust and Homefield Credit Union.

“The holidays can be a difficult time for many seniors who may be experiencing isolation or loss,” says Christine Mateer, Cornerstone’s Director of Community Relations. “Stockings for Seniors allows us to reach out to these individuals and give useful gifts, while letting them know that they are not forgotten. We want to thank everyone who supports this cause year after year, allowing it to continue to grow.”
