Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner Unveils Veterans Wall, Honoring Residents’ Courage and Sacrifice
STOUGHTON, MA— Assisted Living community Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner held a special Veterans Day celebration as they unveiled their Veterans Wall in honor of the residents who have served their country with bravery.
The day began with a delicious pancake breakfast prepared by Brookmeadow’s Executive Chef, Jackie Soares.
In the afternoon, the community proudly put their Veterans Wall on display for the first time, recognizing the residents with a photo and description of their time in the service. The ceremony opened with a speech from resident and former Marine Lewis Olden.
“Today, we honor all of our veterans who unselfishly placed their lives on the line for our freedom,” Olden began. “Those men and women were ordinary people until they heard the call of duty and answered it. They left their families, their homes, and their lives not for recognition or fame or even the honor we bestow upon them today. To our veterans before us today, thank you for your service, commitment, and sacrifice.”
Each veteran was granted an American Flag pin and a certificate of appreciation from the community. The ceremony was a fantastic opportunity for everyone at the Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner community to offer their heartfelt gratitude to these incredible residents.
