We asked associates…

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

“I would have to say the most rewarding part of my job is witnessing the breakthrough for our residents with dementia. When they struggle with communicating their needs and either myself or another associate is able to sit with them and figure it out together. As we know Dementia can rob our residents of so much but to see a resident discover a new passion or learn something new because our associates take the time to figure out what works best for each individual resident, that breakthrough is what makes my job so very rewarding.”

– Jessica Ferreira, Executive Director

“Getting to watch others succeed. When I see Residents achieve something they previously didn’t think was possible. That’s what brings me joy.”

Katie Scott, EnrichedLIFE Director

“I enjoy working for the residents. I am a strong creator of programming that reaches all levels in memory care. Alleviating the anxiety most dementia residents suffer from is my main focus. If I can do that with great activities that allow them to forget their disease and have a creative day filled with imagination and fun I have accomplished my goal.”

– Bethann Mitchell, Director of Compass Programming

“Cooking good food for our residents is definitely the most rewarding part of my job. Getting back their excellent compliments just adds to it too, that really makes my day!”

– Niruth Dassanayake, Director of Dining Experience

“When I walk around our community and see how my team and I provide our residents with a building that is comfortable, clean and safe for them to live in, especially now with the challenges of COVID 19. It feels so nice when I get a  thank you from a resident or family member, that’s when I know we are really making a difference.”

Jim Moynihan, Director of Building & Grounds

“The most rewarding part of my job is feeling appreciated by the residents and staff at Farmington Station!”

Margie Gagnon, Director of Business Administration
