Discover Brookmeadow Assisted Living’s In-House Fitness Specialist

Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner is one of few senior living communities with our own in-house Fitness Specialist, Damian Beckford. This full-time team member works with residents, both one-on-one and in group settings, to help them stay as active and independent as possible so they can enjoy all our community has to offer. Included in their monthly cost, Assisted Living and Compass Memory Support residents have access to:

  • Group fitness classes 5 days a week designed for all fitness levels and abilities, incorporating strength training, balance, cardio, boxing and breathing exercises
  • One-on-one sessions to help residents work toward their individual fitness goals, including “Align & Thrive” which is focused on restoring strength, flexibility and breath-body connection
  • Specialized exercise groups for individuals with chronic conditions, including “Still Waters Flow” which combines Tai Chi, yoga and balance exercises
  • Synergy with medical goals: “Recovery Rhythm” offers breath-based exercises, mobility drills and restorative movement that align with therapy plans (great for residents following a hospital or rehab stay)

Meet our Fitness Specialist

Damian Beckford has more than a decade of experience in the fitness industry, including wellness coaching and fitness instruction for seniors. He specializes in mobility, strength, and longevity training for older adults. Damian is passionate about empowering everyone to achieve their fitness goals by supporting mind, body and spirit. 

Mediterranean Diet-Inspired Dining at Brookmeadow

Residents at Brookmeadow genuinely love their dining experience. Each meal features a diverse menu featuring fresh, healthful ingredients and exceptional service.

Our daily offerings are inspired by our award-winning Brain Healthy Cooking Program, rooted in the well-researched Mediterranean diet, which supports brain health and cognitive function. We use a variety of “brain healthy” ingredients in our delicious, taste-tested recipes, including seafood, lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, olive oil, nuts, and eggs.

We also have an always-available menu of sandwiches, salads and other offerings so residents can order whatever they’re craving — like a true restaurant!
