BOURNE, MA — On Thursday, June 27th Cape Cod Senior Residences in Bourne held their fifth annual Senior Prom for residents and staff at the Independent & Assisted Living Community. Each year at this special event, guests get to relive fond memories of school dances as they dress to the nines, enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by the community’s culinary team and strut out onto the dance floor enjoying classic hits, both new and old.
This year’s dance was truly a community effort, with several groups and individuals outside Cape Cod Senior Residences pitching in. Cape Destinations of Harwich generously donated a limo where guests could have their photos taken. Jim Potter, friend to a resident, donated his classic Ford Thunderbird for photos as well. Wayne Soares, a local who performs occasionally at the senior community, gathered a group of his friends to serve as escorts for the residents as they arrived to the dance. Guests enjoyed music provided by DJ Dana Tobey, known as “The Every Day DJ”.
Cape Cod Senior Residences, an independent and assisted living community in Bourne designed to be affordable for seniors with a range of incomes, is open to seniors 65 years or older whose incomes are at or below 60 percent of the area median income.
