Veteran Celebrates Milestone 100th Birthday

Cornerstone at Canton Assisted Living celebrated resident and veteran Duncan Macleod’s 100th birthday with a special “Rolling Rally” drive-by ceremony. Duncan served in the US Army for three years as part of the 10th Mountain Division and was stationed as a lead ski officer in Italy for six months during World War II. He has been counting down to his highly anticipated 100th birthday ever since he turned 99, and he says that his lifelong goal has always been to live to 100.
To honor this milestone birthday, several notable guests were in attendance, including Massachusetts State Senator Paul Feeney and Select Boardman John Connolly. Mr. Connolly even declared December 26th as Duncan Macleod Day in the town of Canton!
The Canton Department of Elder and Human Services, the Canton Fire Department, and the Canton Police Department, all came together in recognition of Duncan’s bravery, service and kind spirit. Duncan, his family, and other attendees enjoyed waving at the police cars and fire engine as they drove by Cornerstone. It was a truly inspirational day for the Cornerstone at Canton community, and everyone who attended was grateful to celebrate Duncan.
