Mediterranean Dining Adapted for Seniors
Restaurant-Style Dining at Farmington Station Senior Living
Our residents are offered a full restaurant-style dining experience daily at Farmington Station. Our delicious meals satisfy each resident both in taste and nutritious value. Our kitchen is operated by our very talented and award winning Executive Chef Claribel, who recently was recognized at CALA’s statewide Chef Challenge! She designs her own menu daily, of course taking into account residents’ feedback and suggestions. Our most asked question on our community tour is if residents enjoy the food, making Claribel’s cooking award wall an important stop for all visitors!
Each menu is inspired by our Brain Healthy Cooking program, which implements the Mediterranean diet. This approach utilizes brain-supportive ingredients such as fish, berries, olive oil, and leafy greens. This diet fosters many health benefits such as maintaining a healthy blood sugar level, slowed cognitive decline, and reduced risks of cancer.
The Mediterranean diet is known for it’s many health benefits including:
- Preventing heart disease, like stroke, heart attack and high blood pressure
- Better memory, executive function and slower rates of cognitive decline
- Reduced risk of Alzheimer’s and related dementia
- Great for seniors managing diabetes
