Heights Crossing Unveils New Veterans Wall in Honor of Residents’ Service
BROCKTON, MA— In honor of the residents who have courageously served our country, Heights Crossing Assisted Living recently held a special ceremony to unveil an impressive Veterans Wall display.
The wall, which the community will proudly display year-round, features photos of the residents from their years of service and stories of their bravery and sacrifice. As a testament to the community’s commitment to intergenerational bonding, interns from Oliver Ames High School in Easton helped compile information such as the veterans’ branches and ranks. They also put together the picture frames while gaining firsthand perspectives on significant historical events such as World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
At the ceremony, each veteran received a certificate of recognition and a Veterans Day pin. The community then gave a toast to the honorees and prepared a special dinner.
The Veterans Wall ultimately provides residents, family members, staff and anyone who visits the community the opportunity to reflect on the powerful stories of our veterans. By sparking new connections among resident veterans and inspiring the greater community to explore these monumental moments in time, the wall stands as a lasting tribute to learning and legacy.
