Building a Dementia Friendly Meredith

Compass at Forestview wants to help make our area more accessible and empathetic towards individuals with memory loss. Navigating grocery stores, doctors’ offices, and public places can be overwhelming for someone with dementia, and we hope for a world where everyone looks out for each other.

We are doing our part to help combat the stigma of dementia through public education programs, including our own interactive learning simulation, The Dementia Experience. We believe that programs like these will help all of us to better respond, communicate, and support those in our greater community who are living with dementia.

Educational Opportunities for the General Public, Students and Professionals

• We provide a range of CEU-accredited educational presentations for healthcare professionals, and we’re glad to bring them directly to your office — whether you’re a small team or a large group.
• We offer our Brain Healthy Cooking presentations at local Senior Centers, Councils on Aging, and eldercare agencies. Reach out if you’d like us to present at your location.
• We welcome volunteers into our community – any age, any talent! Your time is greatly appreciated by our residents.
