RIDGEFIELD, CT– On Thursday, August 20th, residents and associates from Ridgefield Station were joined by Christopher Carter, President of Purple Flag, to celebrate the senior living community’s Purple Flag Excellence in Dementia Care re-accreditation. Ridgefield’s team proudly celebrated being one of only 11 senior living communities in Connecticut awarded by Purple Flag for their unique approach to dementia care. Purple balloons and refreshments lit up the community as guests celebrated this honorable milestone.
Purple Flag’s thorough application process focuses on the practices and policies of senior living communities, and certifies only those who comply with their rigorous standards. Ridgefield Station’s person-centered approach to care puts residents’ personalities, goals, identities and preferences before their diagnosis — a core reason why they earned this re-accreditation.

Ridgefield Station, offering assisted living and Compass Memory Support, gives residents the opportunity to age in place comfortably as their needs change. The team at Purple Flag has been continually impressed by the community’s focus on nutritious dining and lifelong learning programs across all neighborhoods to help offset symptoms of memory loss without relying heavily on medication.
“This organization is made up of people who find purpose and are passionate about making a genuine difference in someone’s life, and most importantly in their quality of life. The individuals and overall team here at Ridgefield Station possess unique abilities and have been intentional, purposeful, passionate, and continually striving to be best in class in their pursuit of excellence,” Purple Flag President, Christopher Carter, shared in his speech.
Ridgefield’s focus on providing residents with the highest possible quality of care, combined with highly trained and compassionate caregivers, has truly set the tone for dementia care in the state of Connecticut, inspiring more communities to adopt Purple Flag’s practices throughout the Northeast.
