Quincy, MA – The programming team at Standish Village has been taking small groups of their residents out to try new spots for ice cream and to take in the sights of the city. It was during one of these weekly adventures that Fael’s Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner server Gabriel saw the Standish Village van and decided to reach out to the Assisted Living and Compass Memory Support community to see if they would be interested in having a private lunch at Fael’s.
“It was such a simple act of kindness, but it meant the world to our residents,” said Lauren Basler, EnrichedLIFE Director at Standish Village. “They were so excited to be able to enjoy a sit-down meal at a new restaurant and feel totally safe and at ease. They haven’t stopped talking about how much fun they had!”
With the entire restaurant to themselves, prepared courteously with physically-distanced and sanitized tables, residents enjoyed classic Fael’s fare including cheeseburgers, turkey clubs and eggs benedict.
Following their lunch, the staff at Fael’s surprised their senior guests with individual thank you cards. Basler says that the residents at Standish can’t wait to go back to enjoy another meal with their new friends.
