Supporting the Greater Cambridge Community
The Cambridge Homes’ mission continues to be carried out today by an active nine-member Board of Directors and 50 Incorporators, all from the Cambridge, MA community. The Homes has successfully maintained its original charitable purpose by assisting residents with limited means through an endowment fund and providing support and companionship through an active Friends’ Committee. Volunteers from the Cambridge area serve on the Friends’ Committee sponsoring a variety of in-house programs for residents, such as play-reading groups and monthly teas, and are actively involved in the enhancement of The Homes’ two libraries, which have more than 900 titles.
We are grateful to the following organizations that provide support, interns and volunteer services for our residents:
- St. Peters Catholic Church, Cambridge
- Shady Hill School
- Buckingham Browne and Nichols
- Lesley University, Cambridge
- Bunker Hill Community College, Boston
- Longy School of Music of Bard College
- The many local artists, residents, family members who’ve had the work on display within our community
