Neville Place Honors Earth Day with Fresh Pond Habitat Spring Cleaning

Neville Place Honors Earth Day with Fresh Pond Habitat Spring Cleaning

Park Ranger Tim Puopolo and resident Helen Samuels

CAMBRIDGE, MA— In honor of Earth Day, residents and associates at Neville Place Assisted Living worked together to prepare their Fresh Pond habitat for the spring season. The community adopted the habitat last year as a space for everyone at Neville Place, as well as visitors and local wildlife, to enjoy the natural beauty of the land. Neville Place’s habitat is one of only three habitats that have been adopted and cared for at Fresh Pond.

Park Ranger Tim Puopolo from the City of Cambridge and Neville Place’s EnrichedLIFE Director Brooke Maler led the clean-up efforts. Teams of residents and associates raked leaves, cleared trash, and did some light weeding. The community hopes to nurture the violets, ferns, Solomon Seal and Wood Aster plants from the previous year. As the warmer months progress, the Neville Place team is also looking to plant new flowering bushes. The residents and associates alike are excited for everything to be in full bloom this spring! Overall, this spring cleaning was a fantastic way for the community to honor the beautiful natural landscape for Earth Day.
