Armbrook Village Hosts Oktoberfest: Fun for the Whole Family

WESTFIELD, MA — On the weekend of October 4th, Armbrook Village Senior Living hosted Oktoberfest: Under the Tent, a weekend-long tribute to the classic German-themed celebration. More than 100 residents, family members and associates gathered to enjoy food, music and entertainment related to German culture. The staff and attendees dressed in traditional German garb.

The event began that Friday night with German beer and hors’ d’oeuvres such as pretzels, pierogies and potato pancakes. Entertainment was provided by a German Oompah band. On Saturday, Armbrook served up a German lunch consisting of knockwurst, sauerkraut, spaetzle, and other German delights. Attendees also enjoyed an Irish dance performance from McDuffie Academy.

“Simply put, this was the most enjoyable time we’ve had with Mom in years,” said Doug Vincent, whose mother resides at Armbrook Village. “Clearly, the event took lots of planning and heavy-duty effort by many caring, dedicated staff. From the youngest to the oldest, there was fun for all.”Armbrook Village Senior Living regularly hosts events that are open to the public.
