Concord Park Holds Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic for Residents, Staff

CONCORD, MA – On Thursday, January 14th, residents and staff of Concord Park were able to get their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. This was one of the region’s first Assisted Living community clinics.

The vaccines were administered by CVS Health/Omnicare through an arrangement between the healthcare company and Senior Living Residences of Braintree, MA, which manages Concord Park.

“This is a very exciting day for our residents and our entire team here,” said Natasha Heimrath, the community’s Executive Director. “We’re thankful that Assisted Living communities are being prioritized to receive the vaccine and are looking forward to our next clinic in three weeks.”

After receiving their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, each person was monitored by a nurse in a waiting area for fifteen minutes. During that time, the mood was upbeat. Many posed for photos or took selfies with their “I Got My Covid-19 Vaccine” stickers, to post to social media. Staff and residents shared their feelings on why getting vaccinated was important to them. The most common reason, especially being in an assisted living community: That getting vaccinated was important so they could keep their families, fellow coworkers and residents safe from Covid-19.

“This is definitely a day that none of us will forget,” said Heimrath.
