Adapting to and planning for each stage of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia can be difficult, but it is helpful to share your concerns and personal experiences with others who completely understand what you are going through. Our Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group is facilitated by a Certified Dementia Practitioner who shares his or her expertise about the disease and arranges for guest speakers who provide specialized information to the group. Acton Memory Café

The COA offers a monthly Memory Café the second Friday of the month. Cafés are a place to talk with others who understand what you are going through, to leave behind limitations and instead focus on strengths. Residents of Concord Park Participate in "Grab Your Passport" Event
“Grab Your Passport” days are a collaboration between staff and residents that encompasses education, entertainment and food. The program was developed by Senior Living Residences as a way to connect residents to the greater world around them by spending one day each month virtually traveling to an exotic country or city to explore the history, art, music, sightseeing venues, and cuisine of that destination.
Concord Chef Wins Championship Cook Off
Misty Heldermon, Director of Dining Experience and Executive Chef at Concord Park, took top honors for her fall-inspired appetizer at the “You’ve Been Served” Chef Cook Off hosted by CareOne at Concord on Sept. 19.
Concord Park Residents Learn about Rare Fruit
Residents at Concord Park Senior Living were provided an interactive tasting and informative session on rare fruits. Fruits were showcased from several regions around the globe, and residents had the opportunity to taste and learn about their origins and health value.
Acton Council on Aging Hosts Paying for Assisted Living Seminar
The Acton Council on Aging hosted approximately 40 local seniors for a presentation on “How to Pay For Assisted Living”. Presenter Maryellen King provided guests with an educational program on what Assisted Living is, what makes up the cost of assisted living and what options are available to make it more affordable.
Concord Park Senior Living hosts Jazzy Brunch fundraiser
On June 9, Concord Park Senior Living, a Volunteers of America Massachusetts Senior Community, hosted a Jazzy Brunch fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Concord Park resident receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Concord Park resident Herb Mallinson recently received the community’s Lifetime Achievement Award. This award program was created by Senior Living Residences to personally recognize and honor residents for their career, family and personal accomplishments. Read more from the Concord Journal.
Concord Park hosts interactive dementia awareness training
Several staff members at Marie Esther Health Care in Marlborough recently participated in Concord Park's interactive and experiential dementia awareness and communication training, led by Director of Compass Programming Mary Baum. This is the latest development in Concord's Dementia Friendly Communities Initiative.
