HAMPTON — With Assisted Living Communities and Nursing Homes restricting visitors, Cornerstone at Hampton found a creative way for families to spend at least part of Easter with their loved ones.
On Easter Sunday, family and friends decorated their cars with paint, balloons and signs and drove around Cornerstone in an “Easter Car Parade”. Residents lit up upon seeing their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The turnout for the parade was impressive, with over 100 vehicles participating. For Cornerstone, it was a chance to spread joy and hope during an otherwise unpredictable time for many.
“While so many families couldn’t be together physically today, we thought it was important that we still celebrated community,” said Executive Director Katrina June. “It was overwhelming to see the outpouring of love and support from families, friends, and neighbors. It was an unforgettable day for us all.”
