Cornerstone at Hampton’s Expressive Arts Program Sparks Creative Freedom
HAMPTON, NH— Cornerstone at Hampton’s vibrant Expressive Arts program in the Compass Memory Support Neighborhood® lets creativity and self expression run free with engaging, hands-on arts and crafts.
Birthdays in Compass Neighborhood are made all the more meaningful through birthday cards handcrafted by the residents. Seniors have the opportunity to celebrate their fellow residents’ birthdays with creativity and heartfelt messages between friends. Residents use different types of colored paper, decorations, glitter glue, and ribbons to design cards personalized for each individual’s special day.
The program also brings in Cindy Bugden, owner of the Arts of Gold company, to host a watercolor painting group at the community twice a month. Arts of Gold produces beautiful sketches of everything ranging from flowers to local spots in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine that serve as outlines for painting. Cindy brings in a new outline each month and creates a calm, relaxing atmosphere for the residents to paint in. The results are stunning works of art!
Overall, the Expressive Arts program is a resident favorite that sparks creative freedom and allows seniors to explore a new hobby, while also slowing the symptoms of memory loss.
