Beekeeping Lesson at Methuen Village

Alison Derderian, a passionate beekeeper, recently visited Methuen Village assisted-living facility and created quite the buzz with her wonderful presentation about bees, honey and the art of beekeeping!

She shared how her love for bees began alongside her father, who was also a beekeeper, and staff and residents agreed that it was truly heartwarming to hear the special memories and passion behind her journey.

Residents were fascinated as they explored a real hive setup and viewed honeycomb up close, making the experience both educational and unforgettable. The sweet highlight of the day was tasting a variety of delicious honeys and they even sampled mead!

Derderian surprised everyone with thoughtful goody bags filled with honey candies, which brought smiles to the residents’ faces. It was a day full of learning, laughter and sweet moments!
