Methuen Shop Owner Now Assisted Living Van Driver

When we last checked in, longtime Methuen auto detailer Keith Burdin was closing his shop after 30 years to change careers, even if he wasn’t sure exactly where that would lead. We have an update. On March 28, he closed Keith Burdin Auto Detailing on Pine Street, then sold the business to Auto Spa Car Care of North Andover. Since mid-May, Burdin has been a part-time van driver for Methuen Village Assisted Living & Compass Memory Support. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and every other Sunday, he drives residents to van various local destinations. “We go grocery shopping to Market Basket, Walmart and to (equine therapy) Ironstone Farm in Andover and Griffin Park in Windham, NH, and St. Monica Church,” said Burdin. He generally takes 8-12 passengers at a time. How does he like his new gig? “I love working here and being of service to the people,” Burdin grinned.
