Methuen Village Camp Forms Friendships For Seniors and Children

METHUEN, MA– This summer, Methuen Village has continued their tradition of welcoming younger generations into their community for summer camp inspired activities. As part of the independent living, assisted living, and Compass Memory Support’s intergenerational initiative, Methuen Village associate’s children spend their summers joining their parents at work once a week to connect with and learn from the community’s residents. Between baking fresh cookies, painting art pieces together, and even getting visits from local service dogs, this weekly tradition fosters the community’s belief that maintaining their vibrant environment truly takes a village.

“The bonds this builds between residents, children, and associates is something so incredibly beautiful and meaningful,” shared the community’s Enriched Life Director, Ashley Gonzalez, who began this program after seeing the benefits of her own children’s connections with Methuen residents.
