Care & Wellness Support

Person-Centered Care at Heights Crossing

Heights Crossing offers Assisted Living and Compass Memory Support options thoughtfully designed to help seniors maintain their independence, dignity, and overall quality of life — both now and as needs evolve over time.

Before move-in, each resident receives a personalized wellness care plan developed collaboratively by our experienced team of professionals, with input from family members and other healthcare providers. This plan is tailored to reflect individual needs, preferences and requests, and it is reviewed semi-annually to ensure it continues to provide the right level of support.

A Memory Support Neighborhood that actually Treats Memory Loss Symptoms

Heights Crossing features a Compass Memory Support Neighborhood®, a therapeutic secure environment for seniors with Alzheimer’s diease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and related dementia. This innovative program aims to treat the symptoms of memory loss holistically through social connection, research-based lifelong learning, physical fitness, the arts, and an award-winning dining program inspired by the Mediterranean diet. Research suggests that social interventions like these can be as effective as some medications for managing dementia-related symptoms.

Compass is designed like a home, offering a supportive and safe environment where residents’ emotional wellbeing, dignity and independence are supported and encouraged each day. With a high staff-to-resident ratio, environmental design considerations, and a structured program calendar, the goal is to help those with memory loss navigate their world safely with greater confidence and independence.

Services and amenities specific to the Compass neighborhood include:

  • Full-time Director of Compass Programming, a Certified Dementia Practitioner® (CDP)
  • Certified Resident Care Associates available 24/7, specially trained in Alzheimer’s care
  • Overnight safety checks and safety escorts to meals and programs
  • Reconnections, an adult learning curriculum that uses art, music, fitness and socialization to engage individuals with dementia
