Resident Care Associate (CNA/CHHA) Full Time)
Malden, Massachusetts, United States · Forestdale Park

DESCRIPTION
Forestdale Park, a new 85 apartment assisted living community, conveniently located near public transit, is hiring certified nursing assistants and home health aides for the following shifts:
 
Shift 1: 7am-3pm (Part Time, Per Diem)
Shift 2: 3pm-11pm (Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem)
Shift 3: 11pm-7am (Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem)
 
DESCRIPTION:
Our Resident Care Associates (CNAs or CHHAs) are responsible for the delivery of quality care to the residents of the community, encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, intellectual, and mental well being.

A desire to serve seniors and a dedication to improving their quality of life is required. RCAs must maintain a positive attitude, the flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents and the ability to work in a team environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide.
  • Resident Care Associates must demonstrate experience in geriatric care, work well with seniors showing understanding and patience, be a flexible team player, and demonstrate a desire to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Cook – Full Time

The cook will be responsible for preparing, planning and plating food for meals and special events, assisting with ordering, and accommodating residents’ dietary needs as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified candidates must be ServSafe certified and have an interest in working with a senior population. Candidates with previous experience in a senior care facility are preferred.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a cook in a fast paced setting, a hospitality or healthcare environment preferred
  • ServSafe Certified
  • Working knowledge of kitchen organization and food preparation
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • A desire to serve seniors and a dedication to improving their quality of life is required. Candidates must have reliable transportation.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The Resident Care Director manages, directs and develops a comprehensive care program for all residents of the community, including traditional Assisted Living residents as well as Independent Living residents and those in our specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care neighborhood. The RCD oversees the training and managing of our team of CNAs and serves as a liaison with family members, community agencies, physicians and care providers.

* This position requires on-call responsibilities to best support the staff and community.

REQUIREMENTS / WHAT WE EXPECT:
A passion for working with seniors. A collaborative mindset that values teamwork. Excellent communication skills. A tech-forward approach to daily operations, especially in this “new normal”. An ability to maintain professional integrity and to build trust, especially in challenging situations. 

This position requires a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse who is a graduate of an approved nursing program with valid Massachusetts nursing license or otherwise meets the requirements of EOEA Assisted Living regulations, or equivalent. Experience in a senior community environment and a means of transportation to complete assessments for new and returning residents is a MUST!

Utility Associate / Dishwasher

Forestdale Park Assisted Living community is seeking a part time utility associate.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include dish washing, heavy cleaning of kitchen counters & storeroom, mopping floors, emptying trash, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • The utility person will work with volunteers, residents of the community and other staff members to complete tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, listen to resident needs and work with both small and large groups.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Be able to lift 60 pounds and operate equipment safely.
  • Have a flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • A desire to serve seniors and a dedication to improving their quality of life is required.
