Resident Care Associate (CNA) Full Time)
Malden, Massachusetts, United States · Forestdale Park

DESCRIPTION
Forestdale Park has two full time Resident Care Associate (CNA) positions available.

At our community, priority number one is the enhancement of each resident’s Quality of Life. We focus on the whole person, not just the treatment of their most basic physical or cognitive needs. Our method is to individualize a plan of care for each resident, providing just the right combination of services to optimize their overall well-being, independence, personal dignity and enrichment.

DESCRIPTION:
Our Resident Care Associates (CNAs or CHHAs) are responsible for the delivery of quality care to the residents of the community, encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, intellectual, and mental well being.

A desire to serve seniors and a dedication to improving their quality of life is required. RCAs must maintain a positive attitude, the flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents and the ability to work in a team environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide
  • Resident Care Associates must demonstrate experience in geriatric care, work well with seniors showing understanding and patience, be a flexible team player, and demonstrate a desire to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementias.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Background checks will be completed prior to employment.

Housekeeping Associate- Malden, MA

DESCRIPTION
Forestdale Park is seeking a part-time housekeeping associate to join our team.

Our method is to individualize a plan of care for each resident, providing just the right combination of services to optimize their overall well-being, independence, personal dignity and enrichment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cleaning & Laundry Follow cleaning and laundry schedule as outlined in housekeeping staff assignment
  • Clean residents’ units on a weekly basis as assigned. Perform emergency housekeeping duties when accidents occur
  • Clean residents’ units and common space floors and walls by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming. Clean movable furniture and fixtures. Dust, spot clean or wash, disinfect when necessary, polish where required. Empty, clean, and reline wastebaskets. Straighten or re­arrange furniture as directed.
  • Clean bathrooms. Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, and walls as directed. Wash windows and mirrors. Replenish bathroom supplies in common areas.
  • Clean walls, windows, doors, and ceilings. Disinfect as necessary. Clean ceiling fixtures as scheduled. Replace light bulbs as required
  • Collect soiled laundry from residents’ apartment according to assigned laundry schedule. Sort, launder, fold and return clean laundry to each resident’s unit. Iron articles as requested by resident
  • Use appropriate procedures (Universal Precautions) in handling any potentially contaminated linen(s), or cleaning any potentially contaminated areas
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry work area on a daily basis
  • Maintain equipment used in performance of duties

Resident Care Director / Nurse Manager

DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Resident Care Director to support our Forestdale Park community!

The primary functions of the Resident Care Director include managing, directing and developing a comprehensive care program for all residents of the community which may include traditional Assisted Living residents as well as those in our specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care neighborhood. The Resident Care Director serves as a liaison with family members, community agencies and care providers. The ideal candidate for the Resident Care Director position will have an acute sense of responsibility and moral integrity with a sincere desire to work with elders.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Manage, direct and develop a comprehensive care program for all residents of the community, which may include traditional Assisted Living residents as well as those in our specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care neighborhood.
  2. Provide comprehensive initial assessment of all residents prior to move in.
  3. Develop initial service plan in coordination with family and other relevant care providers and provide regular reassessments.
  4. Assure that resident’s service plan is properly implemented by community staff.
  5. Recruit, interview, hire, train (new hire and ongoing), schedule and supervise all RCAs. Closely mentor, guide and direct the RCAs in all aspects of their job.
  6. Assure compliance with all resident care related regulations (e.g., medication management)
  7. Responsible for management of wellness budget.
  8. Understand and comply with EOEA Assisted Living regulations.
  9. Monitor resident quality of care on a daily basis.
  10. Coordinate ancillary health and therapeutic services for residents if needed and/or requested.
  11. Arrange for emergency treatment when required.
  12. On-call responsibilities as scheduled to assure that personal care staff have adequate backup.
  13. Assure that all appropriate communication regarding resident care issues is shared with other departments in a timely manner.
  14. Serve as “manager on duty” on a rotating weekend schedule with other managers
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse who is a graduate of an approved nursing program with valid Massachusetts nursing license or otherwise meets the requirements of EOEA Assisted Living regulations.
  2. Bachelor’s degree required and at least two years experience with elderly or disabled individuals.
  3. Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong assessment and care planning skills.
  5. Experience with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.
  6. Computer literacy required.
  7. Acute sense of responsibility and moral integrity.
  8. Sincere desire to work with residents and ability to deal with residents under all conditions.
  9. Compassion and patience essential; level-headed and calm in emergencies.
  10. Ability to cooperate with other associates in a team environment.
  11. Must be willing to perform non-essential duties as needed.
  12. Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm in order to create an atmosphere conducive to growth.
  13. Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the job including standing, sitting, bending and moving residents (one person assist).
  14. Must have means of transportation to complete assessments for new and returning residents.

Wellness Nurse (RN / LPN)

DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Full Time Wellness Nurse to support our Forestdale Park community. The Wellness Nurse will have on-call responsibilities as scheduled to assure that personal care staff have adequate backup. He/She may be required to work additional hours as needed in an emergency situation. The Wellness Nurse may also participate in Manager-on-Duty responsibilities for weekend and holiday coverage.

He or she will have a strong work ethic with good attention to detail, desire to work with seniors, and an interest in participating in group activities with residents. Must have a flexible schedule, and reliable transportation are a must. Computer literacy is also required. Background checks will be completed prior to employment. Walk-in applicants are welcome.

  • Assistance with Marketing and Public Education Effort for the Community:
    • Conduct tours and community outreach.
    • Conduct assessments of potential residents within 24 hours, as requested by the ED or Community Relations Director.
  • Other:
    • Conduct tours and community outreach, and conduct assessments of potential residents within 24 hours
    • Serve as “manager on duty” on a rotating weekend schedule with other managers
