Resident Care Associate (CNA, HHA)
 
Forestdale Park in Malden, MA is hiring caring and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides to serve as Resident Care Associates. Our Resident Care Associates provide direct care to seniors, are committed to providing a safe home-like environment, have a passion for helping others, and enjoy having fun!

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
  • Spending quality time with seniors and providing direct personal care
  • Joining or leading fun activities of your choice with the residents
  • Tracking care and other tasks with our easy-to-use electronic health record system
  • Light housekeeping services, with the support of the housekeeping team
  • Assistance with dining services, as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), strong preferred
  • Desire to work with seniors, required; Experience preferred but all necessary training is provided for associates
  • Compassionate, patient, committed to teamwork, dedicated, trustworthy, positive attitude
No certification or license? Talk to us. We have internal training programs that once completed, may qualify you for this position.

Cook (Part Time)
 
DESCRIPTION:
Forestdale Park, an Assisted Living and Memory Support community in Malden, MA, is seeking a Part Time cook to join our team. If you enjoy working with seniors, come and be part of the team that gives our amazing residents and their guests an enjoyable and delicious dining experience!

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The cook will be responsible for preparing, planning and plating food for meals and special events, assisting with ordering, and accommodating residents’ dietary needs as required.
 
Available Shifts:
All cooks must be able to work weekends and days and evenings. Schedules can vary from day to day and include 6:30am-2pm, 9am-6pm, and 10am-6:30pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Qualified candidates must be ServSafe certified and have an interest in working with a senior population. Candidates with previous experience in a senior care facility are preferred.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a cook in a fast paced setting, a hospitality or healthcare environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of kitchen organization and food preparation
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • A desire to serve seniors and a dedication to improving their quality of life is required.

Programming Assistant
 
DESCRIPTION
Senior Living Residences is seeking a dynamic, innovative programmer who is creative, friendly, energetic and organized to assist the Program Director in creating, scheduling and implementing programs for our residents. The role is a full time position at Forestdale Park in Malden, MA. 
 
Availability:
Full time: 9:00AM-4:30PM, weekend availability requried 
 
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
  • The Programming Assistant provides assistance in managing a comprehensive program for active independent seniors, as well as individuals with memory impairments, with the goal of enhancing their social, intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical well­ being. As assigned, instructs and supervises other assistants, Resident Care Associates (RCAs) and volunteers in their participation in activity programming; and serves as a liaison with family members, the larger community and care providers.
  • The Programming Assistant may assist with developing, scheduling and directing these programs daily, including driving residents to off-site activities in the community van.
  • Duties also include providing support for photography, the creation of a monthly newsletter, updating the community Facebook page, and assisting with public relations efforts.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1 to 2 years experience working with the elderly and/or Alzheimer’s populations; experience providing programs or services to the elderly is preferred.
  • Must be responsible, organized, and dependable with the ability to communicate effectively with senior citizens and their families.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
  • Must have a history of responsible, accident-free driving.

Utility Associate/Dishwasher (Part Time)

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
  • Responsibilities include dish washing, heavy cleaning of kitchen counters & storeroom, mopping floors, emptying trash, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • The utility person will work with volunteers, residents of the community and other staff members to complete tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, listen to resident needs and work with both small and large groups.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Be able to lift 60 pounds and operate equipment safely.
  • Have a flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • A desire to serve seniors and a dedication to improving their quality of life is required.
